  • For the sauce:

  • 1/2
    chilli
  • 1 tbsp
    olive oil
  • 150 ml
    tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp
    apricot jam
  • 1 tbsp
    light balsamic vinegar
  • 2 pinches
    salt

For the sweet ’n’ sour sauce, first wash the chilli, remove the insides and seeds and chop finely. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the chilli for about 1 minute.

Put the tomato ketchup, jam, chilli and balsamic vinegar in a saucepan and simmer for 20 minutes until the mixture resembles a syrup. Season the sauce with 2 pinches of salt and chill until needed.

For the chicken nuggets, put the flour, water, cornflour, egg yolk and baking powder in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Season the batter with the Chicken Seasoning and 2 pinches of salt.

Preheat your air fryer to 200°C.

Cut the chicken breast into 2 cm pieces and roll in the batter. Let the excess drip off, then place the chicken pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. Air-fry for 10–12 minutes or until golden and crispy, turning halfway through the cooking time.

Serve the crispy chicken nuggets with the prepared sweet ’n’ sour sauce.
