At Just Spices, we have a mission: “To Empower people all over the world to cook food they love”.
We believe that good food is an important part of being both healthy and happy. And we do our best every day to make this happen. Every day, we create delicious spice mixes, inspire our spice buddies and serve up the culinary diversity of the whole world on our plates. At the same time, we also have the responsibility to protect and conserve our planet together.

But we want more:

Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to eat a hot meal every day. We want to make sure that more people have access to food. That's at the heart of what we do. We've already reached important milestones on our journey, but we're still a long way from reaching the end.. We promise to keep getting better.
And there's still a lot to do!

People

The power of people

We believe in the “Power of people”. Not just our incredible community that we inspire afresh every day, but also our fantastic team. 's only through them that we're able to support so many people in their everyday cooking. One thing that's especially important to us is: creating an environment where everyone can be who they are. With staff from over 15 different cultures, we're as colourful as our containers and as diverse as our spice mixes.

That's why we've created a healthy working atmosphere and why we campaign for equality and diversity. With these same values, we campaign for those who don't have the privilege of having access to food every day. We support Tafel Düsseldorf a local foodbank that supports several thousands of families each month.

Our planet - our home

As a spice company with distribution channels throughout Europe, we have a special responsibility to protect our planet and to keep our environmental footprint as low as possible. That's why we're always on the lookout for more sustainable, green solutions, why we keep our transportation to our customers in Germany 100% climate neutral and use more and more certified organic spices in our products.

With the UN's global sustainability targets to guide us, we still have a way to go and there's no doubt we're not perfect yet. The journey has just begun! and we can all do our bit!

The impact of our product

Our products shouldn't just make you spice experts, but using Just Spices should also make you feel good generally. That's why we continue to manufacture our products according to the highest quality standards and why we're working on making our packaging even more sustainable.

With our products, we want to show you that spices can help you eat more consciously, you can reduce salt, fat and sugar without having to compromise on flavour. With our spices, we not only want to make our world spicier, more flavoursome and more colourful, we also want to make it better.

Spices are best stored in an airtight container in a dry, dark place, which is why our packaging is designed to ensure that our products are as protected as possible from external influences such as sunlight, moisture etc. This is the reason why our containers so far have only been partly recyclable – which you can do by removing the base and lid and disposing of the individual components separately.

The paper packaging in our IN MINUTES and salad dressings is 100% recyclable while the sachets themselves can be disposed of in your usual plastic recycling. We know that when it comes to the recyclability of our packaging, we're not yet perfect. But we are working hard to find more sustainable solutions.

When Just Spices was just starting out, our three founders travelled around the world to get to know the unique spices and flavour combinations of different cuisines and cultures, so that our Just Spices are as authentic as possible. And when it comes to selecting our spices, we still follow the same vision. We obtain our spices exclusively from suppliers with a GFSI-recognised certification*. Our suppliers are also obliged to comply not only with national laws but also with all regulations under European and German Food Law. In this way, we're able to ensure that all of our spice mixes are 100% natural and free from additives. Just Spices, in fact.

We firmly believe that food plays an important role in health and happiness for everyone. We want to support people in cooking the food they love, empowering them to be more creative in the kitchen and encouraging them to embrace healthy eating. But since we know that not everyone has the privilege of having a hot meal each day or even access to a balanced diet, it's also extremely important for us to support social projects. We partner with a local foodbank, Tafel Dusseldorf, to support several thousand people a month with both donations and spices. We're also planning to support projects in the near future by donating part of our income. Stay tuned – as we have a really fantastic campaign coming soon! One thing however that has always been part of our DNA is, we don't rest on our laurels. We're always open to new suggestions, looking for new ways to become even better and always planning our next steps.

As a spice company, using our natural resources responsibly is very important to us. Regardless of whether they're organic or not. As a rule, all of our products meet high-quality standards and are regularly tested. All of our spices are 100% natural and contain no additives. Not all organic-certified raw materials however meet our standards for quality – when it comes to taste, for example. By following our vision to provide you with the best spices and to make every meal taste better, we cannot however guarantee that the raw materials needed for our spices are always organic.

In general, we have very strict quality standards for all of our products and they are tested regularly. For example, all of our products are 100% natural, contain no additives and are both GMO-free and non-irradiated. Our products also regularly undergo chemical and microbiological analyses to ensure compliance with corresponding threshold values.
